MONOTYPE CLASS

Monotype or Monoprint (the painterly print) is one of a kind print using ink, brushes, rollers, rags and whatever imagination one can muster. Monotypes can help one discover things not available in other mediums. Making monotypes has inspired and affected my painting more than any other single influence. It can truly be an exciting, sensual, aesthetic experience. Some drawing or painting experience is useful. I supply ink, rollers, rags, odorless thinner, etc. You buy paper, from me (at cost) or from your own source.

Cost is $325. To reserve a spot please send a $50 deposit (non-refundable within 2 weeks of class), the balance is due on the first day of the class.

PAINTING: The spirit of drawing
FIVE DAY INTENSIVE

Sept 3—7, 2008
Wed—Sun
10AM—4:30 PM

Lots of drawing and painting will take place using many different materials; charcoal, erasers, pencils, rags, ink, brushes, fingers, paint, foam tubes, stuff...lots of stuff. We will challenge the distinctions between drawing and painting as well as our concepts of what it means to draw or to paint. We will work on paper, boards, canvas, different sizes. IT WILL BE A BLAST!

We will look at the energy and spirit of drawing and painting and how they can work together. Drawing will be as important as painting, not merely a supporting role or a way to "design" a painting. Click for a materials supply list.

Cost is $325. To reserve a spot please send a $50 deposit (non-refundable within 2 weeks of class), the balance is due on the first day of the class.
